legalism: over the last few years ex-jws have discussed much about how to deal with the jws legally, to stop slander, harassment, etc.
... and then somehow try to avoid being da'd or df'd.
this can work, but it take some preplanning and careful strategy to implement ... and in the end, the ex-jw often still gets shunned.
I came to the conclusion that responding simply wasn't appropriate, indeed undignified for care of self - sincere questions have never been asked - they already have the answers and they don't really want yours - just the semblance of conversation for 'lovely' appearances.
The reason for contact is for the purpose of duty, control, or accusation - or a combination of these.
It's very good advice and should be carried to the enth degree.

i was brought up in "the truth", i have the odd bible study now and again, funny enough the last time was a week after 9/11, as im still subconsciously in fear of armageddon, but i haven fundamental problems with some of their teaching, hence my joy at finding this site.
i also used to think armageddon was coming at the sight of the smallest storm.
has anybody found what they think is "the truth" since coming away?.
Doesn't the bible teach at other places that we are not judged by works but by faith?
Yep, those who come under judgement are in hell, in death or are simply dead in the sea (of people).

there is no doubt in my mind that the glory days of jehovah's witnesses are over.
from my knowledge and experience with wt history, i would define the glory days as the decades of the 1950's, 1960's and early 1970's.
with knorr's great expansionary vision and discipline, dubs in the 1950's became a "somebody" in the 1950's.
THAT sounds like a really good strategy to accelerate the process - pictures of khs with for sale signs.

At one time a large portion of the 'christian' world was arian.
It went away, but there were a few diehards, as you would expect - it's pretty hard to be so sure and proud of something that you'd give your life - and then just drop it.

i have been reading posts here for several months, which has helped me to keep from going insane.
my doubts came when i finally got the nerve to leave a bad marriage, why did i stay so long.
because i was ashamed and really scared of what "jehovah" would think of me.

it has occurred to me that jws may suffer something like second death and that's part of the aversion to the whole religion - that you can't revive them.
whereas people can accept that others fail at social obligation (sin), it is in some way understood and forgiven.
however, when the perpetrators deny it all (unless caught), the whole thing takes on a 'new light'.

It's like someone can 'die' from among people but they revive them, but then others may in effect die twice.
Is there a third death? What do you think?

if jws aren't allowed to take in blood (let alone have a transfusion) why did jesus command us to drink his blood?
That's certainly a legitimate question.
Jesus said plainly that His blood was to be taken in, and also said that the blood of others was not to be taken in (see OT). Live only His life, not someone elses - even another sheep.
The same Lord told us both.
If someone doesn't believe it, they can always let people die for their knowing and 'holy cause'. Maybe while they're at it they should also visit the farms and unmuzzle those oxen that are treading out the grain.

basically, this is my take on it.
this isn't intended to start a flame war between believer's and non-believer's of god.. god creates angels.
god creates man.
There was no longer any place in heaven for the one who set himself up as judge of the world and accused people all the time.

just got home a short while ago after visiting a couple of local kingdom halls.
yep, left them a "present" a little lamb with a note regarding the "silenced lambs" and the silent lambs web site.
they'll be there to greet the pioneers and publishers for their early morning field service meeting.
Don't just leave them at the halls - leave them in public places so people will ask what they're for.
Some may not agree, but my indulgence does not include pre-serving jwism.

one thing that the witnesses promote is how they are different from the rest of the world.
in your personal experience , did you find that you could trust a witness more than you could a non-jw?
I take it that Muslims generally don't appreciate the 'sacred' nature of theocratic warfare.
